Book 14 finally here!!

Ooooh finally!! It took 6 weeks! Aaaargh! Drove me crazy... I'm so glad it's finally here. The withdraw syndrome was so bad, I read it right in my car. How embarrassing. Whenever new stuff comes out, I try to avoid the spoilers, but fail every single time. This time, the focus is on the special extra short story at the end, and the freebie Scribble Art Book. (Stuff that don't get into scanlate sites, hehehe.)

First thing first, the Art Book is exactly as expected. All the drawings are taken from scribbles on the back of the manga paper! (Geese... Arakawa has time to draw that many?) It's very interesting to see her pencil drawings. Her skills are really high! Where is the cross in the middle of the face to determine the angle and mid line? She doesn't even need that! Oh my god!!!!! It's funny how there are way more macho men than anything else. That's her cup of tea for sure. Wait...! Al's last name is spelled wrong!! It's Elrick instead of Elric?! No one noticed!?!?!?

The extra short story "the Elrics" at the end of the comic book far exceeded my expectations from reading blog spoilers. Very, very touching. Oooooh! The brothers are so cute!!! They used to be "normal" kids too. And... haha... Arakawa really likes washrooms. (Remember the 4-panel booklet that came with book 12?) Who would imagine Hohenheim sitting on the toilet?

You can tell the artist had an excellent up-bringing. And this kind of author is exactly what we need nowadays, to give the younger generation a proper idea on life. In the Scribble Art Book, there is such a comment like, "I was going to give Izumi a fight move that uses a loaf of meat, but that wouldn't be respectful to food so the idea was dropped." That, is an admirable attitude.

And... another comment in the Art Book is, "Al appears often in my scribble because I don't want to forget how to draw his face." This means, Al is gonna get his human body back!? (Right...? Right?)
