So... the mystery about the boy (Wrath) starts to unfold. And Ed finds his arm and leg.
At this point, the Fuhrer Still looks like he isn't related to the Homunculi. The sequence is clever. Good directing.
Why doesn't Al ask about the gate when Ed and Izumi talk about it? Isn't he at least curious? This doesn't make sense.
Vic screwed up again between the gate scene and the failed transmutation. Grrr...
Yeah, OK, Wrath got Ed's arm as one of those black babies inside the gate. But this still doesn't explain about how he gets Ed's leg. The leg "disintegrated" when Ed stands in front of the gate. Moreover, by the time Ed goes back for Al's soul, shouldn't Wrath already be carrying Ed's leg?
It doesn't make sense that Izumi isn't more aware of her state of health. She shouldn't be so stupid to
- not tell Ed everything.
- go to the island alone.
Is this... Archer's first appearance? Probably not. I think he was in a scene with the Fuhrer before, but I can't remember. Oh! Greed's lizard man makes his entrance too! But... to be honest, it was very confusing for me the first time, and I just skipped those parts. I wasn't following the story as closly as I should.
Ah! CG background! It's the POV of Wrath on Ed when he fuses with the bed. A flying camera shot. I admire people who can draw this kind of animated perspective. But the wall and floor seem wrong. The room looks much smaller than it should. The CG part still moves so seamlessly smooth that it stands out a lot, and easily identified.
Lastly, I'd like to borrow from Fuuyuu. His favorite of this episode is Warth's lunch scene. I'm impressed at his observations! No repeating drawings. Usually, eating is depicted with repeated action. The movement of the hand putting the food into the mouth, and the chewing. This saves the number of drawings and cells. But none of Wrath's movement is repeated. This shows really well how hungry he is. And this sequence isn't cheap!
